Store review: The Children’s Place fleece (and other) pajamas

The Children's Place has been one of my favorite children's clothing stores since Sebastian was little.  He is 9 years old now.  The Children's Place is known to provide customers with a high-quality selection at prices that represent a substantial value relative to other competitors. Like most parents, I enjoy getting discounts and paying low prices for clothes that I know are of the highest quality and I know that when I go to The Children's Place I am going to do just that.  If you haven't been yet, you've got to find your local store or visit their website and check it out!

Designer baby & kids clothes: buttery soft dresses, and whimsical fairy tanks

I talk to lots of moms who say things like 'my daughter won't let me pick out her clothes anymore'.  It is so easy to buy clothes for infants and toddlers because they don't care if their shirt is plane jane or if it expresses a political opinion of their parents.

biome5: organic clothes for kids

I dont' know how many times I have refered to Madelyn as a little monkey.   We had to get her out of her crib before she turned one because she tried to climb out of it.  She climbs as high as she possibly can in any given situation.

I was excited when I received a cute biome5 Monkey tee for Madelyn because it describes her perfectly.   And as if cute isn't enough, biome5 tee's are educational.  Shh, don't tell your toddler.  How can a tee be educational you ask?  On each shirt, a huge letter is printed with an animal whose name starts with the letter.   The M tee has a cute monkey on it while the Z tee has .. I bet you can guess.. a zebra.  The colors are vibrant and on most designs, the animal printed on the tee looks like a photographed image making the animal easy to recognize.  You child has probably seen most of the animals at the zoo, aquarium, or in your own backyard.

Tee's are available in 2T, 4T, and 6T short sleeve and long sleeve and the onesie is available in 3-6 months and 6-12 months sizes.  All of the designs are gender neutral so you are not limited to the number of tee's or onesies you buy for your child.

Oh, and what's really neat is that the name of the animal on the shirt is printed upside down so your child can read it while wearing the tee.  That is such a cool idea!  biome5 tee's give toddlers the opportunity to work on learning the alphabet and phonetics while wearing an awesome tee.

Gimos Kidswear

Madelyn, my two year old daughter, loves dresses.  She will take off her clothes and put on a dress if she can get to one.  She's even worn one of my tank tops thinking it was a dress but I didn't burst her bubble by telling her that it was just a tank top.  She was so excited when she saw this dress!  It was really cute, she took a deep breath in and then said "Ooooohhh!".  Madelyn is wearing the Ema dress in the photograph above.  I love the long length and the chest area and sleeves are wide enough that it will probably fit her after her third birthday, next May.

Madelyn and Sebastian recently received three Gimos pieces each.  Madelyn received a swimsuit, bikini, cropped pants, and a dress and Sebastian got a pair of shorts, swim shorts, and a long sleeve shirt.  All of the pieces have held up well after multiple washings.  I worried that embroidery on the dress and shorts might not hold up well but found that after a few washes the embroidered designs look as good as new.  I hand washed Madelyn's swim suits although I'm not sure if that was necessary. I usually hand was bathing suits and didn't check the tags.

Yes, Sebastian is acting like a chicken in the photograph above.. I'm not sure why.  He is wearing the 'Blue Swimshorts' and pictured to the left are the two other pieces he has.  He says the green ('Letter Print Shorts') are comfortable but he did add that they are a little big and he loves the 'Spider T-shirt' which I think will be really cool to wear in October, for Halloween.  Despite the shorts being a little large, he wears them a lot.  It's a little warm to wear the shirt now but it will worn a lot in October, I'm sure.

I think Gimos clothing (except the girls swimsuits) runs a little large so you might want to buy a size smaller than you would normally buy.  However, I personally am not at all upset by the larger than normal fit because the kids can wear the clothes longer!

Robeez weekend & sandal collections

Shoes, shoes, shoes.  I think Madelyn has more shoes than I've had in my entire life.   She has pink shoes, red shoes, black shoes, striped shoes, shoes with flowers on them, shoes with x-bones on them, and so many more. 

In the photo to the right Madelyn is wearing a pair of shoes from Robeez's new Weekend Collection.  They are super easy to get on and off with the help of a tab on the heel, and the multi-colored striped elastic on the sides makes them wearable with almost any outfit.  There are five striped colors choices and four solid color choices in the Weekend Collection.

I also like the new line of Robeez sandals.   Madelyn has the classic style (to the left) which reminds me of sandals I'm wearing in photographs from the late 70's. 

They may look like the sandals we wore as children but they are not nearly the same.  They aren't stiff as thick wooden boards, but instead have soft leather soles and Velcro straps take the place of the buckles that were on the 1970's sandals.

I've always liked Robeez shoes.  They offer both classic and trendy styles and more importantly, they are made to be comfortable for little feet like Madelyn's.  Robeez shoes are available for babies up to 24 months but I have found that they run a little big. Madelyn will be 2 May 9th and I'm sure she will be able to wear the sandals through most of this year and she is not a smaller than average child.

I can't tell you how many times Madelyn and Sebastian have fallen down while running in circles on our hardwood floors.  A lot!!  In the summer months they usually don't wear socks inside but they do i n the winter and I'm sure you know how great of a combination socks and hardwood floors are?!  Enter GRiPPiES.

Portrait Bow Keeper

Madelyn has an ever growing collection of beautiful hair clips and up until recently we did not have an official place to store them.  Uniquely U Boutique recently sent us this precious Portrait Bow Keeper and I love it!  Not only does it keep Madelyn's hair clips in one central location but it looks really cool on her wall. 

All together Madelyn has probably has had over 30 hair clips.  I'm sure that is the case with most little girls.  To-date I am able to locate 21 of them.  What happened to the others?  I don't know because I didn't have a place to keep them and didn't know about these cool bow keepers until Uniquely U Boutique sent us one!
